Buying A Maserati Car

There are a number of Maserati dealers located across the world. But, before we get into that discussion, lets explore what exactly the Maserati is and why you would want to know more about it and maybe buy one for yourself.

Historically, it was the Maserati brothers that created the name. They started out with the Diatto company in Italy. This is where they received their education and became familiar with race cars. However, in 1926, Diatto stopped making race cars and the Maserati brothers basically took over from them with their version of a race car. This newly created race car driven by brother Alfieri won the rugged and very dangerous Targa Florio race in that year. So, Maserati cars as we know them today have a racing past. This means that the technology used in the racing cars will find its way into the cars that you and I will buy.

Today, there are many dealers located across the world. To find out where they are you can either search online or look in the Yellow pages or its equivalent in your country and city. Note that it can sometimes be difficult finding information about the Maserati cars on their website. They want you to enter your details before they will let you onto their site. I have never seen this before with the likes of Porsche, Jaguar or Aston Martin websites. Persevere with the website, it is the most convenient way of finding out about Maserati dealers.

There are a number of famous models manufactured by Maserati. The Spyder convertible is one of Maserati's best sellers. They were in production from 2002 to 2007. Recently, Quattroporte and GranTourismo have taken the world by storm. The Quattroporte is the Maserati Corporation's 400 horsepower luxury sedan that goes 168 miles per hour and zero to sixty in 5.5 seconds. This specific model lists for over $100000. The Grantourismo is slightly faster at 177 miles per hour and zero to sixty in 5.1 seconds. It too costs over $100000 but is the epitome of a luxury performance car and they're cheaper than an Aston Martin. Both of these models are available at Maserati dealers with options available should you need them.

Maserati has even been the aspect of a song by Joe Walsh entitled "Life's Been Good." The line says, "My Maserati does 185, I lost my license, now I don't drive." This is certainly a tribute to the Maserati prowess and speed.

One thing that should be borne in mind is that if you decide to buy a pre-owned Maserati, then it is highly unlikely you will get it at a steal. These cars tend to keep their value. This is why they are a car worth buying. To find out more about Maserati click on the ads or the links on this website.
